I am grasping the dart tip ends with my left hand as this feels natural. I notice that when I retrieve the dart with my thumb/index finger(right hand) the following happens

dart tip points down, elbow flares out, and I can't draw back

Any suggestions on how to make the most of my feeder hand and how to grasp the dart? Does breathing rhythm have an effect on the setup?

When you retrieve the dart you can not get your elbow back into position? Sounds like you maybe need to just slow down. Get your elbow where you want it, before you throw.

It may require a lot of mental reinforcement. Make a check list in your head.

ex:

  1. pull dart
  2. elbow in
  3. aim
  4. throw

You can put what ever steps you like on your list, but mentally go through it on every throw until it become natural.

Yes, when I retrieve the dart, I notice that my elbow flares out. Any suggestions on how to tuck the elbow in/lead with the elbow ?

@webleyalecto22 Tuck it in. If you can't control it, you need to live with it.
